White Bread, milk

To significantly diminish and even cure boils, soak half a small roll of white bread in milk and apply it to the boil over night. Applying the bread soothes tenderness immediately and the inflammation will be drawn to the surface by and by, therefore repeat as often as necessary. The boil may open in the process. If it opens while no bread is applied, make sure to disinfect with alcohol the area that came in contact with puss. Puss from an open boil will be soaked up by the bread while it is applied.

Here is a simple recipe for White Bread that won’t dissolve when soaked in milk:

  • 5 cups white flour
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups lukewarm water
  • 2 tsp oil

If you plan on eating the bread that you do not use for medicinal purposes, you can add the following to taste:

  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp rosemary or oregano

Mix the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients separately. Pour the water-oil mix over the flour and mix well, then knead for about 15 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Let the dough rise in the fridge for 1.5 hrs.

Roll out the dough, cut into rolls. Place on a greased baking sheet and let rise again while preheating the oven to 375 F. Bake for 25 minutes. If you plan on eating parts of the bread, brush the tops of the rolls with olive oil after taking them out of the oven.
