blueberries, grains/ oats, mango

  • Blueberries contain myrtillin, a substance that reduces blood sugar much like insulin does. Therefore, you can make an anti-diabetes tea from blueberries by steeping 1 tsp of cut, dried blueberry leaves in a cup of hot water until lukewarm. Drink a cup of this tea four times daily. WARNING: This tea needs to be used three to four times daily and on a regular basis, or else the glucose levels in the blood will soar instead of fall !
  • Oats and other cereal grains can be called the “miracle food” for diabetics as the significantly drop the amount of insulin needed each day. Consider an oatmeal, Grape Nuts and All Bran diet if you are diabetic.
  • Tea from mango leaves is said to help with diabetic retinopathy as well as diabetic angiopathy. Drink a cup of the tea, each day, and add 2 tbsps of either papaya, mango or guava juice to it. To make the tea, pick 2 medium size mango leaves and let them dry on a clean cloth for a day. While still a little moist, cut them in inch-size pieces and place them in 1 quart of boiling water. Cover, remove from heat, let steep for an hour; then strain and drink 2 cups a day for three successive days.
